TDS (Tote Delivery System)
What are the Totes?
The portable Tote Delivery System (TDS) is a standard IBC tote comprised of a tote tank (1,100 gallons or less). We supply 300 and 500 gallon sizes. Our totes are totally compliant with MPCA regulations, thereby eliminating any concerns a construction company and/or contractors have regarding such issues.
The tote may be moved at any time by the contractor without risk of violation; the tote is not considered a tank. According to Minnesota Rules, Capt. 7151-1300, “tote tanks are exempt from the aboveground storage tanks (AST) rules. The Minnesota Pollution Control agency (MPCA) will not require the tanks to be registered.”
As indicated by our website photos, the Totes can be lifted by crane to various locations on a site. This eliminates fuel trucks and/or hand fueling attempts to maneuver around other equipment, reducing liability and easing congestion.

What are the Tote benefits?
- Old Methods vs. New - Prior fuel deliveries to construction customers were commonly done by a fuel truck to fill construction equipment or to tanks onsite. Attempting to make a fuel delivery to a construction or equipment-laden site would, and commonly did, spit back fuel due to the flow rate of the fuel truck. Therefore, a spill could occur. Additionally, there are numerous storage tank regulations the contractor / customer must adhere to (such as MPCA Statute 116.48, Subd 1-8).
- Intended Use - Our Totes are ideal for use in locations where site congestion must be kept to a minimum. The Tote is filled with product and delivered to the facility or site. The customer can have the Tote refilled and may also move the Tote around on the job site if desired.
- Clean Totes - Our customers can be confident that upon delivery our Totes are free of all particulates, condensation, etc. This keeps equipment at its top performing capabilities and diminishes fuel issues. Fuel tanks cannot be cleaned unless they have a large man-way - our Totes have a 24” man-way for service.
- Minimum Site Congestion - The Tote, filled with product, is delivered to the site, keeping site congestion to a minimum and keeping our customers compliant with MPCA regulations.
- MPCA Regulations - MPCA regulations state that the owner of the Tote must be the supplier of the product.
- Portability - Once on site, the Tote(s) may be moved around the site in order to supply more than one piece of equipment. They are designed to be moved with product in them.
- Secondary Containment - Secondary containment is always available if needed.
